Michelle Rodriguez opens up about the death of Paul Walker: 'I went pretty crazy

Michelle Rodriguez says she went on a "bit of a binge" upon learning that her friend and Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker had been killed in a freak car crash.

Rodriguez refers to Walker as the "deepest guy I know" and admits that after learning of his death on Nov. 30, 2013, she went off on the deep end in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I went crazy a little bit," she confessed. "I went pretty crazy. A lot of the stuff I did last year I would never do had I been in my right mind.

The 36-year-old actress' behavior inevitably was reported in tabloids, including her PDA-filled relationship with model Cara Delevingne, her brief rendezvous with Zac Efron in Spain and Sardinia and her brush with Justin Bieber at a yacht party. "I was pushing myself to feel," she says of that time in her life. "I felt like nothing I could do could make me feel alive, so I just kept pushing myself harder and harder. I was traveling and I was having sex. And I was just trying to ignore everything that I was feeling.

Rodriguez tearfully expounds on the friendship she shared with Walker, saying she never had a connection with another person like that. "I could see Paul once every two years and just know there was another human on the planet who's deep like me, who loves like that," she says. "When that disappears, you wonder, 'Wait a minute, what do I hold on to?' There was nothing to tether me to this existence: 'Why am I f**king here? And, like, why'd you leave without me?

Fortunately, the Furious 7 actress was able to pull herself out of her grieving and move on with her life. "I just woke up [one morning] with a profound respect for living," Rodriguez recalls. "I stood tall one day and I said, 'You know what, Michelle? Stop f**king hiding. Go manifest.' And all of a sudden, I picked myself up and started hustling.

Vin Diesel, 'Furious 7' cast get emotional recalling 'beautiful spirit' of Paul Walker

Furious 7," the final installment of "The Fast and the Furious" franchise, will soon hit the big screen. But this one is more than another high-speed, action offering.
According to the cast, who carried on with the film following the death of star Paul Walker, it's a true labor of love.
The stars gathered around the movie's family table with TODAY's Natalie Morales to remember the man who was like family to them all.
I don't think it's something any of us will ever get over," Jordana Brewster, who played Walker's wife in the movies, said of the loss. "He was the most wonderful, light, beautiful spirit ever, and he'll be forever missed.
That's why it was so important to everyone involved that the film be completed after Walker's death in 2013.

"We all knew that it was our job to lead the legacy for someone we love, and someone the world loved," said Vin Diesel, who even named his new baby daughter Pauline in honor of his friend. That's why the ending is as precious as it is.

Part of the high-pressure process involved finding a way to finish Walker's scenes, which were only 85 percent complete at the time of his death. For that, they brought in his brothers, Cody and Caleb.

"They were actually on the set with us every day," Gibson explained. "We actually felt like our brother was still with us.

The end result? According to Brewster, it's just perfect.

"When I finally saw the movie, I breathed a huge sigh of relief because it is beautiful, and he's so good in it," she said. "The tribute to [Paul] is so fitting and beautiful, and I am really happy the fans get to see that.

Vin Diesel and his longtime girlfriend Paloma Jimenez recently welcomed a new baby to their        family. On Monday, the "Furious 7" star shared all the sweet details with TODAY SHOW.

The actor, who already has a son and daughter with Jimenez, revealed that he's now the proud papa of another baby girl. And that special addition to the family has a very special name.

"I named her Pauline," he revealed

He was in the room, Diesel recalled. There's no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just ... knew he was there.

And Diesel decided that Pauline's name would be a way to make sure Walker would always be there.

It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world he explained.

Diesel has long thought of Walker as a part of that family. At a recent preview screening of "Furious 7 he said that when Walker died in a car crash in 2013. I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.
